in the herbicide Roundup. Bayer manufactures 70% of North
America's Roundup in Muscatine, Iowa. Iowa has the
second-highest cancer rate in the country, according to the 2024
Iowa Cancer Registry. The cancer registry predicted that 6,100
people will die in Iowa from cancer this year. Richard Deming,
a cancer physician in Des Moines, says “there’s clear association
between ag chemical exposure in the state of Iowa and cancer
incidence.”

2025, the Biden Administration's Environmental Protection
Agency finally admitted “forever chemicals” are contaminating
U.S. farmland because of the EPA's own long-standing policy of
promoting toxic sewage sludge "fertilizer" as the way to dispose
of waste from water-treatment plants.

herbicide atrazine should be allowed to contaminate the lakes and

levels up to 9.7 parts per billion (ppb). That’s nearly three times
higher than the level of 3.4 ppb the EPA said it should be lowered
to in 2016 and 2022. The decision now rests with Trump’s EPA
director, Lee Zeldin, who’s accepting public comments on the
issue until April 4, 2025.

Tom Vilsack said U.S. farmers could grow a GMO wheat variety
that’s genetically engineered to soak up glufosinate, a pesticide
that is 5 times more toxic than glyphosate and has been banned
in the European Union since 2013. Glufosinate exposure is
associated with low-birth-weight babies. The USDA didn’t conduct
a scientific review or offer opportunity for public comments
before announcing its decision. That’s because of the GMO
deregulation that President Donald Trump pushed through in
2020.

“fertilizer” and dumped on farmland. There’s nothing wrong
with “humanure” if properly composted. The thing that
makes sewage sludge so nasty isn’t the human waste, it’s
the polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). This class of highly
toxic man-made fluorinated chemicals are used in a variety of
products, including waterproof fabric, stain-resistant carpets,
nonstick pans, flame retardant furniture, take-out containers,
cosmetics and firefighting foam.
