May 29, 2026 – A document President Donald Trump filed with the Office of Government Ethics last week shows his portfolio managers purchased stock in a long list of food and agriculture companies during the first three months of 2026, some of which have had direct dealings with the administration.

Among other agriculture companies, Trump purchased stock in egg giant Cal-Maine Foods, pesticide company Corteva, and Deere & Co, the maker of John Deere farm equipment.

Last year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) publicized a tour of a Cal-Maine egg facility, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has active monopoly cases currently open against both Corteva and Deere & Co.

The case against Deere & Co., filed at the end of the Biden administration, is particularly important to farmers, who have been fighting for the right to repair their own equipment for years. So far, the Trump administration has signaled it will continue the case and has backed the right to repair on other fronts.

Trump’s stock purchases also included the country’s biggest ultra-processed food and beverage companies, including Kraft Heinz, General Mills, Mondelez, ConAgra, PepsiCo, and Coca-Cola. In fast food, he purchased stock in McDonald’s, Domino’s, Papa John’s, and Yum Brands, owner of Taco Bell and KFC. He also invested in the country’s largest grocers, including Walmart and Costco.
