In recent years the Organic Consumers Association and our family of organizations (OCA, Regeneration International, Via Organica, Citizen’s Regeneration Lobby, Millions Against Monsanto) have helped popularize and spread the notion of organic and regenerative food, farming, and land-use, doing our best to bring together networks of food, farming, and natural health activists into a greater synergy, a national and global Movement of planting peace and justice and regenerating our health, freedom, and democracy. In line with our mission, we are happy to endorse the initial Five Action Steps of the Reignite Democracy/Freedom Movement.
Suzanne Burdick explains the Five Steps in the Defender September 29: “It’s time to take practical steps — individually and collectively — to impede the globalist agenda and empower ourselves to move toward creating the lives we want to live, according to Reignite Freedom.” Reignite Freedom is a new global Movement, founded by Australian grassroots activist Monica Smit, that arose out of the Resistance to the COVID lockdowns and the Great Reset in Australia, but is now spreading across the world.
As Smit puts it: “If we want to strategically push back against globalism, we must lead by example and slowly unchain ourselves.
“We already have the power. There are already enough of us. We just need to act in unison … One step at a time, we will gradually strive to disconnect from the globalist agenda.”
“The Canadian Convoy was the inspiration [for creating the Global Walkout],” Smit told The Defender. “I thought to myself, ‘Imagine if we did this all around the world at the same time.’”
“The most important thing is that anyone can participate no matter where they live, what they do or what their lifestyle is. It takes very little energy but can have a huge impact if done in unison globally…”
The Great Walkout Campaign was initiated on Sept. 4 by Monica Smit and a committee of well-known COVID-19 dissidents including Robert Kennedy Jr., Dr. Peter McCullough, and Dr. Robert Malone. Other Great Walkout “launch team members” include:
• Christine Andreson, German member of the EU parliament
• Mike Yeadon, former vice president of Pfizer
• Amanda Forbes, representative of Vaccine Choice Canada
• Michael J. Matt, editor of The Remnant Newspaper
• Alexander Tschugguel, Austrian Catholic activist
• Jimmy Levy, American musician
• Morgan C. Jonas, Australian politician
The First Five Action Steps
Step 1: Keep cash alive: use cash instead of credit cards as much as possible. A printable handout explains: “I paid cash today for a reason”
“To SAVE this business money on transaction fees
To GIVE this business more control over their profits
To SUPPORT my local economy and community
To KEEP my purchases and location anonymous. To KEEP cash alive!”
Step 2: Buy local and organic: As OCA always says, buy local and organic today and every day and avoid GMOs, ultra-processed, and pesticide-tainted foods. If you know first-hand that your local small producer is organic, then it doesn’t matter if they are USDA certified or not. Locate and support family-run grocery stores, restaurants, and retailers and support the farmers and businesses in your area, rather than the chains. If you live in the city, research what fresh and organic produce, and meat and dairy, is grown or produced in your region. Get to know your local producers and merchants.
Step 3: Ditch the mainstream media: Unsubscribe from all mainstream media outlets. Delete the apps from your phone, laptop and tablet and unfollow all of their social media and YouTube channels. Try to avoid mainstream media. Tune in to the alternatives. Tell everyone you know to subscribe to the free Organic Bytes newsletter, The Defender, and Mercola.com
Step 4: Support small banks: support smaller banks and credit unions by moving your money from the multinationals to a local banking institution.
Step 5: Display the U.S. (or your country’s) flag upside- down: The fifth step of the global walkout is to display your country’s flag upside-down anywhere you can. We’ve come up with a very cheap and easy way to do this so EVERYONE can participate.
We’ve been inspired in the Netherlands by seeing hundreds of upside-down flags along the highways. It’s very impactful because the public cannot help but notice and wonder why they are there.
An important part of this step is to take a photo when you put your flag somewhere and post it online. Use the same hashtags as everyone else to show that WE ARE THE MANY…#CountryInDistress and #GlobalWalkout
In the Netherlands when we drove through farming regions, there were more properties WITH flags than without. It’s impossible for the public to ignore this public display of distress. Imagine if this was global??? If you spot a flag while with a friend, it will be a great way to start a conversation about important topics.
