The Plant Farm
Having moved to an old farmhouse and steading on 5 acres (of the original, long since broken up dairy farm) our drive is to develop the place in to a literal plant farm – growing food, using regenerative and environmentally friendly methods, based on Permaculture principles.
We are constantly developing the site and experimenting with different growing methods and trialing varieties of fruit and vegetables, especially legumes, squash and tomatoes. Growing some more unusual vegetables to enjoy is also done, and hopefully we can share these regularly when stocks are robust.
We want to grow food for ourselves and be able to share the excess with others, so that local people have access to fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables. Although not a market garden per se, we don’t grow anything intensively or in large amounts to order, but hopefully you will find something that’s available that you will want.
As well as fresh produce, we always have excess herb plants, fruit bushes and other garden/perennial plants etc throughout the year too, plus extra jars of preserves and dried foods which we make for ourselves and to share with others.
We are a Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Proud Supporter and an Accredited Better Food Trader! We sell through our Facebook page directly, at local markets and through the Galloway Food Hub.
