“Gain-of-Function” zealots involved with lab engineering of viruses, bacteria, insects, and micro-organisms like to tell us: “Don’t worry, we can regulate ourselves.” 

Doubtful.

These scientists, biowarriors, and vaccine entrepreneurs tell us that their genetic manipulations, their so-called “biosafety” labs and experiments are so safe that we don’t have to worry about leaks, accidents, or even deliberate releases. 

They’re lying. 

The US and overseas labs have a long history of lab leaks. In fact, on the average there is at least one lab accident every two days in the US.

And corporations like Bayer/Monsanto want to build even more labs to engineer viruses, bacteria, and microorganisms.

Even as more and more people learn about risky “Gain-of-Function” lab research and recent lab accidents, many have forgotten about the anthrax attacks shortly after 9/11, when several members of Congress opposing the Patriot Act and media outlets critical of the Bush/Cheney Administration were mailed weaponized anthrax that was developed in a US military bioweapons lab. 

Even fewer people have connected the dots between US biowarfare experiments to weaponize ticks, and a 1975 leak from the USDA Plum Island Animal Disease Center on Long Island Sound where ticks engineered to be more virulent apparently escaped and were carried, likely by migratory birds, to the nearby community of Old Lyme, Connecticut, setting off an epidemic of Lyme Disease which has spread across much of the US, inflicting pain and suffering on 30,000 Americans every year.
