Although the media are finally waking up to the real lab origins of COVID-19, there has been very little coverage of the fact that “Gain-of-Function” (GOF) research, even after the Wuhan lab leak, is continuing at numerous so-called “Biosafety” or “Biodefense” labs in the US, China, and across the world.
Among the ongoing funders of GOF experimentation are Dr. Fauci’s National Institutes of Health, the Big Pharma-affiliated EcoHealth Alliance, as well as a secretive and little-known network of U.S. military biowarfare/biodefense funders including DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (ASPR) for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

Although there is finally a unanimous bi-partisan call from the U.S. Senate to cut off all U.S. funds to Chinese labs for GOF experiments, there are still 200 labs in the US alone equipped for GOF engineering, with hundreds more across the world.
In a Jan. 22 Twitter post, biotech scientist and COVID-19 investigator Yuri Deigin warned that Italian GOF researchers have created a SARS-CoV-2 variant that bypasses acquired immunity and negates the immunity you normally would have after recovering from the infection. Deigin writes:
“Ok, the prize for the craziest and most dangerous gain-of-function research goes out to Italian virologists who took SARS-CoV-2 and passaged it in vitro in the presence of neutralizing antibodies. It quickly obliged and mutated to escape them. Yay for a novel, more dangerous SARS3!”
Other reckless and ongoing GOF research includes scientists in the U.S. attempting to combine the SARS virus with super-deadly anthrax bacteria at the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Vaccine Research. The director of the Pittsburgh Center is W. Paul Duprex, a gain-of-function enthusiast who’s received significant funding from the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
Other GOF Frankenviruses and pathogens currently being engineered include airborne Ebola, funded by Fauci’s NIAID at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Human Pork Vomit Virus, concocted at Ralph Baric’s lab at the University of North Carolina, as well as virus-infected insects, and resurrecting deadly viruses such as the Spanish Flu which killed 50 million people in 1917-18.
We still don’t know what gain-of-function ghouls Dr. Fauci’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) are funding today—and these are probably the government agencies engaged in gain-of-function research that are the most transparent.
In addition, very little is known about what goes on at the Pentagon labs in 30 countries operated under the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Cooperative Biological Engagement Program. We do know that DTRA funds EcoHealth Alliance’s virus hunting. In the last 6 months, EcoHealth has received $10 million (34 percent) of the $29.1 million DTRA has invested in scientific research.
We’ll know even less about what happens at the new CIA Labs, but “bioscience and biotechnology” are listed under “What We Do.”
