90 percent of mothers and 88 percent of fathers are in favor of labeling GE foods, according to the survey conducted by the Mellman Group. But two parents are holding out: President and Mrs. Obama.

Back on the campaign trail in 2007, then-candidate Obama promised if we elected him president, he’€™d support GMO labeling. So far, he’€™s broken that promise.

We’€™ve launched a petition asking Michelle Obama, who speaks out regularly on the issues of poor nutrition and childhood obesity, to remind President Obama of his promise. If we get 200,000 signatures by Oct. 1, we’€™ll deliver this petition to the White House in person and make sure there’€™s plenty of media coverage.
