Finally, President-Elect Biden has done something right!

His recent nomination of Representative Deb Haaland for Secretary of the Interior is a beacon of hope for public lands, our climate, and Native communities.

As an enrolled member of the Laguna Pueblo in New Mexico, Rep. Haaland will make history as the first Native American to lead a Cabinet agency.

Haaland has been a champion for public lands protection, climate action, free speech, and the upholding of Native rights and heritage. Her voice will help move our country towards the change, healing, and regeneration that is so desperately needed.

“Growing up in my mother’s Pueblo household made me fierce. I’ll be fierce for all of us, our planet, and all of our protected land. I am honored and ready to serve” said Rep. Haaland.
