“For this reason, the salvation of this human world lies nowhere else than in the human heart, in the human power to reflect, in human meekness and in human responsibility.
Without a global revolution in the sphere of human consciousness, nothing will change for the better in the sphere of our being as humans, and the catastrophe toward which this world is headed—be it ecological, social, demographic or a general breakdown of civilization—will be unavoidable.” – Vaclav Havel, then president of Czechoslovakia, in his February 1990 address to Congress
One of our partners in the Regeneration Revolution posted the above quote on Facebook this week. We had to share. Because it’s as relevant today as it was then.
Through OCA, and through our new project, Regeneration International, we devote countless hours and ample resources to things like policy change, education, marketplace campaigns, research on organic regenerative farming practices, and training for farmers who want to convert to those practices.
It’s important, nuts-and-bolts type work, requiring patience, determination, cooperation and specialized skills.
But without “a global revolution in the sphere of human consciousness,” indeed, nothing will change for the better.
Thank you for providing not only the financial support, but the motivation and conscience without which our work would be, well, just work. Your continued support will help fuel not just a Regeneration Revolution, but the “revolution in consciousness” that we will need for a true, global transformation.
