As interest grows in organic gardening, opportunities to learn how to do it are growing, too.

The Brown County University of Wisconsin-Extension’s Organic Learning Center will offer a multi-week, hands-on Organic Gardening Class, beginning this month.

“There is a growing interest in it,” said Linda Blondin, horticulture secretary at the Extension. “People want to use less chemicals and be less intrusive on the environment.”

Classroom and hands-on opportunities on various aspects of growing organic fruits and vegetables as well as heirloom varieties will be offered Tuesdays, April 17, May 8 and 29, June 19, July 17 and Aug. 21. […]
