CARBONDALE Roaring Fork Valley residents got their first look at possible designs for the Sustainability Center of the Rockies (SCoR) this week, as a group of experts laid out the concepts and philosophies of the facility for public scrutiny at Carbondale Town Hall on Tuesday.
With global temperatures on the rise, speakers at the event re-envisioned the town as CarbonDALE, a community moving forward from its history of carbon-rich coal mining and reliance on fossil fuels to rediscover its dale, or fertile valley, side where food, energy, and the economy can be locally and cleanly produced and sustained.
