  As a doula, I help women by providing information on options available during labor and birth. I can help write birth plans, if desired. During labor, I provide physical support such as massage, suggestions for position changes, and hot or cold packs as well as emotional support. Immediately after birth, I can help get breastfeeding established and make sure you are as comfortable as possible. I will work with your partner, making sure that person is as involved in the labor as they wish. As a childbirth educator, I emphasize that labor is a normal process. In most cases, the safest approach is to allow labor to proceed normally. In our culture, women are often afraid of labor. I can help you understand labor and learn to work with your body to have a safe and satisfying birth. My classes are great preparation for low intervention births.
