We Need More Press Coverage Of Healthy Food Plans!

I haven't eaten anything with sugar in it for 2 years. My blood sugar has been normal at 93, my blood pressure fell to 113/69 from 150/90 and I lost 65 lbs in 9 months. I am 53 years old. I also gave up all refined flours of any kind, including cornmeal. I eat only whole grains, proteins, vegetables and fruits. I didn't think I could do it but I have been able to successfully keep to my diet despite people around me offering lots of sugar and flour items. We need more press about eating the healthy way so that it isn't so difficult. People say they want to be healthy and loose weight but are unwilling to change their eating habits. People would not end up in the hospital if they were able to eat better.

I help a friend with what we call the 'Veggie Van'; taking the local produce from the farmer's market to those who can't get there. We are also trying to EDUCATE people about what's IN their food, what happens to it BEFORE they get it and PROMOTE BUYING LOCAL, ORGANIC food! I've been eating this 'good stuff' all summer now and I feel a lot better! My fridge is full of pesticide-free veggies, and I have lots of other good things to eat. I now make it a point TO buy organic, non-GMO, hormone-free, antibiotic-free food. I buy very little at 'Wally-World'. (I really hate that store!) Haven't bought store bought produce in months and don't plan on it.
Yes, we DO need 'more press' on food, but.... you KNOW that 'big food' and the govermnent doesn't want us to know!
We just need to go back to the way of eating over 50 years ago.
Have you noticed all the processed CRAP that's in the stores now? Aisle after Aisle; frozen, canned, microwaveable (that's another topic!) things laden with CHEMICALS.
No wonder why everyone's so sick!
Good for YOU on your new eating habits!
