On Sunday, September 21, 2014 the Organic Consumers Association joined the People’s Climate March in New York City - the largest climate march in history. We marched with a message of warning. And a message of hope.
On Saturday, September 20th, the Organic Consumers Association hosted a track of workshops at the NYC Climate Convergence on topics related to the role organic farming—and organic consumers—can play in reversing climate change.
The workshops included farmers, scientists, authors, and policy experts from the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements, the National Family Farm Coalition, the Northeast Organic Farming Association, the Quivira Coalition, Biodiversity for a Livable Climate, the Carbon Underground, Carbon Nation, La Via Campesina, CLAC (Latin American Fairtrade Farmers), the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa, AgriLife, Planet-TECH, the Rural Climate Network, the Center for Food Safety, the Democracy Center and the Brooklyn Food Coalition.
